We are a member of PEBA!

Many businesses around the globe are changing their products to become more environmentally friendly. Even large corporations, like McDonalds are promising to make their Happy Meal toys more sustainable to help better the environment. That being said, we are also becoming more environmentally conscious and know the importance of keeping our planet clean and safe for future generations.

 

 As a new business in Ocean City, NJ , we, at Showstoppers Plus, the Partyology Firm, would like to make you aware of what that we are doing our part to make our planet a better place for our communities. Because we specialize in balloon décor, and because our location is so close to the ocean, we understand more caution needs to be taken to safely secure our décor. I would like to share with you how we have gone above and beyond in OC and the shore area to protect our environment. 

 

Did you know?

*We are required to be trained about safety of balloons, their proper installation, and applicable laws.

 

*We inform all of our clients about balloon safety. For example, helium filled balloons should not be used outside since they may separate from their anchor. Therefore, we only recommend helium balloons for indoor decorations and we only use air-filled balloons outside.

 

*All outside balloons are secured to fishing line, heavy weights, frames, and poles to avoid them from blowing away.  We also recycle these weights, poles.

 

*Our company only purchases BIODEGRADABLE latex balloons for our customers.

 

*We inform our clients how to properly dispose of their balloon décor in order to protect the environment.

 

*We are aware that wind can be a big issue here at the beach so no helium balloons  ever leave the store without being in a bag.  We even use biodegradable bags for our purchases.

 

In addition, Showstoppers Plus, the Partyology Firm, is also a member of the PEBA (Pro Environment Balloon Alliance). I have included their guidelines and our certificate below.  As a member of the PEBA, and Save the Whales,  I thought it was important to let you know how we pledge to support and protect our environment.

What is the PEBA?

PEBA USA is committed to working together with balloon professionals, environmental groups, government and media to eliminate the organized, deliberate release of balloons and to educate our customers and the public on the responsible use and disposal of balloons. 

1. No Balloon Releases – Members of PEBA USA do not support, or condone, nor will they facilitate the deliberate release of balloons.

2. Responsible Use and Disposal of Balloons – PEBA USA Members will follow responsible  practices regarding the uses and disposal of all balloons.

3. Education – PEBA USA members will continue to educate the general public, clients, and venue managers on the importance of not releasing balloons into the environment, on alternative options to releases, and the correct use and disposal of balloons.

4. Awareness – Members are requested, where possible, to include a link to PEBA USA on their website, invoices or email signature to help raise awareness.

5. Community – Members are asked to notify PEBA USA if they become aware of any environmental issue pertaining to balloons, or are having any difficulties dealing with anyone in regards to environmental issues in the United States.

Just wanted to let our customers and community members know that we care about our planet and we take pride in keeping our planet safe for many years to come.
